Attendance:
Absenteeism is very disturbing to the learning process. Missing
a lesson due to travel or illness is understandable, but please
try not to schedule other activities or appointments at class time.
If a student must miss classes, please contact the studio so that
we will be aware of the reason and can make arrangements. We will
be keeping records of perfect attendance and recognizing these
students at the end of the year as an added incentive to be at
class each time. Please be punctual; entering class late disrupts
the lesson for everyone.
Shoes and Attire:
Shoes are to be purchased on or before October 1st. They may be
purchased at the studio on our Open House and selected dates upon
announcement. Ballet slippers should be either pink or white. Tap
shoes and Jazz Oxfords should be either tan or white. Gymnastic
shoes should be white. Irish step Ghillie and Hard shoes, along
with Hip Hop shoes should be black. *Please note: Black dance shoes
may be used; however, they are harder to paint for the show at
the end of the year.
Leotards, body suits, bike shorts, or spandex dance attire must
be worn for all dance lessons. STREET CLOTHES ARE UNACCEPTABLE.
Proper dance attire is essential so that the instructors may observe
and correct body movement, alignment, and form.
Holidays and Bad Weather:
The studio will observe the holiday schedule in the calendar. Please
see the Calendar section for dates. If we have ice, snow, etc.,
which causes school closures, it may not necessarily cause the
studio to close. Please call the studio (781-581-6444) for information
concerning classes. There will be a recorded message with relevant
information.
Waiting Area:
There is a waiting room for students and their parents. Please
help us keep this area neat and clean. Water is permitted but please
refrain from gum, soda, and messy snacks. Also, please remember
to take all of your belongings with you. We cannot be responsible
for lost or stolen items.
Parents Week:
Parents are encouraged to observe their child’s progress
the first week of November, February, and May. Please note, Monday
Hip Hop class parent’s observation will be held on the SECOND
week of these months. These will be the only observations.
